Weekly Recap: Spiral, Army of the Dead, Profile, Oxygen & More!
So now we can say Summer Movie Season is here. This week features the release of films starring Chris Rock (Spiral: From the Book of Saw), Angelina Jolie (Those Who Wish Me Dead), and Amy Adams (The Woman in the Window) in theaters and on streaming services, as well as Zack Snyder's big-budget action-zombie film, Army of the Dead. Given the coming weeks, it seems like things are closer to coming back to normal as far as big movie releases. Plus, lots of smaller releases are out there, including a computer screen-based thriller (Profile), a space survival film (Oxygen), a darkly comedic revenge film with Mads Mikkelsen (Riders of Justice), and an intense arthouse thriller (The Killing of Two Lovers). There's plenty more to check out too, and I have reviews for them all. Also, don't miss the podcasts from this week, including our thoughts on Wrath of Man. Finally, check out my various essays, lists, and new trailers to dig into as well. Enjoy, stay safe out there, and thanks for reading!
