Weekly Recap: Patriots Day, Monster Trucks, Bye Bye Man & More!

This is an interesting week for January, as we get both the dump month entries and wider expansion of awards contenders. Monster Trucks and The Bye Bye Man (one of these is good, both are fun) both offer something for those looking for forgettable entertainment. Meanwhile, Patriots Day and Silence are dramas that could work for those seeking something more substantial. I have reviews for all, along with all the new home releases out this week. Also, be sure to check out our epic Top Ten of 2016 podcast, along with some of the other cool little features I wrote up. Lots here, so enjoy!

In Theaters Now:

(A solid dramatization)

(It's fine for the kids)

(January's default horror release)

(Scorsese's heaviest film in a while)
