I Love My 'Role Models'
Role Models = 4 1/2 out of 5
(Another throw back review, but I really love watching this movie)
Paul Rudd and Sean William Scott star as Danny and Wheeler, two guys working for an energy drink company, going from school to school telling kids to stay off drugs and hawking Minotaur themed juice.
The two are opposites. While Wheeler is optimistic about dressing up as a minotaur and taking it easy, Danny pretty much hates his life and most people. After a particularly bad day for Danny, he ends up crashing the minotaur mobile with Wheeler, leading to their sentencing to 150 hours of community service at a big brother-like institution, Sturdy Wings.
Here, the guys meet Gayle, the founder of Sturdy Wings and former drug addict, played hilariously by Jane Lynch, who introduces them to their boys. One is Augie, an uber nerd played by Christopher Mintz Plasse (McLovin') who somehow plays a different role than the former, and Ronnie, a foul mouthed little 10 year old obsessed with "boobies", played also hilariously by Bobb'e J Thompson.
This movie is filled with so many one-liners, gestures, reactions, and various little moments, it makes it hard to keep up at points. It all works to make it one of the best comedies of the year.
The film was directed by David Wain, who has been involved in other cult comedies such as Wet Hot American Summer and the TV show - The State. Anyone familiar with these examples or any of the related work will see plenty of familiar faces as well as feel right at home, and the same can be said for anyone that watches this movie in terms of enjoyment.

Ronnie: Suck it, "Reindeer Games"!Along with Forgetting Sarah Marshall, this is a comedy that follows a familiar formula, but somehow becomes greater due to just how hilarious it is and creative in placing the characters in seemingly absurd situations. 'Marshall' had a puppet musical, this movie has an extended LARPing (Live Action Role Playing) session.
Danny: I'm not Ben Affleck.
Ronnie: You white, then you Ben Affleck.
Wheeler: You are white.
Danny: That's true, I am white.

Wheeler: Taste the beast!

Danny: I bet if I suggested a game of quiddich, he'd cum in his pants.

Danny: Pick us up in two hours.Of course everyone hates each other towards the beginning, but then they grow to like each other and develop in their own lives as the film moves on, but the movie remains hilarious throughout, with the added bonus that Augie is a member of the aforementioned LARP community, which involves he and his people dressing up in medieval attire, and having all out battles with foam weapons. Here you have a list of other actors, familiar from small roles in other movies as well as others scattered throughout the film, that make the film work so well.
Ronnie: Fuck you, Miss Daisy.
Kuzzik: Let us gingerly touch tips!

Gayle: You think I give a shit if you guys go to jail? You know what I used to eat for breakfast? Cocaine. You know what I used to eat for lunch? Cocaine.
Wheeler: What did you have for dinner?
Danny: Was it cocaine?
